Taane Paki & Mitch Regan

Kia ora, my name is Taane Paki and I am Co-Head Boy of the Tai Mitchell Hostel in 2016. I come from a very small community on Matakana Island.  Growing up on this small island, I didn’t have any obvious aspirations to reach for.  But when I was in my final years of Intermediate School, I made the best decision of my life to date.  I enrolled into Rotorua Boys’ High School, a school which has given me many opportunities and guidelines in terms of where I want to be in the future.

Kia ora, my name is Mitch and I am the Co-Head Boy of the Tai Mitchell Hostel in 2016. I came to Rotorua Boys’ High School and the Tai Mitchell Hostel as it was the best possible way to achieve the academic, sporting and leadership successes that I have had over the past five years.  I have not regretted any moment spent here at Rotorua Boys’ High School.  Coming from the Sunshine Capital of New Zealand, Whakatane, I have spent my time here making friends, “brothers” that I will have for the rest of my life and I will be always able to depend on.

Being in our 5th year at school, we have come to realise that Raukura is not just a school that caters well for Academic, Cultural and Sporting needs but it is also a place where young men like     ourselves learn good morals and the true understanding of the ‘brotherhood’  instilled within our school.  We have made great friendships with young men from all over New Zealand and abroad. We are both grateful for the opportunities the Hostel offers young men from all around the world.
